Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that involves the collection of evidence against each unit in a qualification. An RPL assessment can be used to qualify for partial or full recognition in a qualification. RPL must be offered and completed prior to the commencement of structured training.

Application may be made prior to or with enrolment, using the RPL application form provided during orientation. The Academic Manager can arrange a time to discuss your application in detail.

Any course duration reduction resulting from RPL must be indicated on the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) if granted prior to visa issue, or on PRISMS if granted after visa issue.

Credit Transfer

Credit Transfer is a process where a student may be granted acknowledgement on the basis of prior studies completed at another Registered Training Organisation or Education provider for identical units. For example, if a student has completed the same unit of competency at another institution, it will be recognised if the unit matches in both title and unit code number.

If Credit Transfer is granted, the student's course schedule must be reviewed. Any reductions in scheduled attendance must be indicated on the Confirmation of Enrolment if granted prior to visa issue, or on PRISMS if granted after visa issue.
